Back-to-School Night

Calling all Rossmoor 1^st-5^th Grade Families~ 

You are invited to Back-to-School Night this Thursday!

Thursday is a Minimum Day dismissal which means all our Knights are dismissed at 12:20pm.

Teacher Presentations:

1^st-3^rd Grades- 5:30-6:20pm

4^th-5^th Grades- 6:40-7:30pm 

* Please remember this is an adult only evening.  Click here for Kids Korner options for childcare this evening.

Second Week of School Drop Off and Dismissal Times

• School Starts at 7:50am- Parents may enter their gates when they hear the bell at 7:40am.  This is when supervision starts. (Please do not enter campus sooner).  

1. Gate 1(front of school- Valet Drop off Only)
   1. Reminder parents do not exit car and only students exit on right side of vehicle

• For families walking on campus or students walking to school use the following gates:
  1. Gate 2- 4^th and 5^th Grades (Shakespeare Drive and Rossmoor Way)
  2. Gate 3- 2^nd and 3^rd Grades (Montecito Road near Kids Korner Entrance)
  3. Gate 4 – Tk, K and 1^st Grades (Montecito Road, near Roundabout by School Garden)

Dismissal Schedule for UTK and Kindergarten (August 22^nd - August 26^th )

Dismissal Schedule for 1^st-5^th Grade (Weekly Schedule)

• Monday, Tuesday, & Friday will be regular 2:05pm Dismissal
• Modified Wednesday Dismissal at 1:05pm
• Thursday is a Minimum Day Dismissal at 12:20pm due to Back-to-School Night

Great Times at our Welcome Back Spirit Assembly

What a fun way for us to come together for the first time as a school on Friday! Our Spirit Assembly was fantastic!!  All of our new Knights were sorted into one of our 4 Houses- Galahad House (Black), Lancelot House (Red), Gawain House (Purple), or Percival House (Blue)- and came home with a wrist band of that color!   Our Board of Education Vice President, Mr. Chris Forehan, and Board of Education Member, Mr. Scott Fayette, joined us as well on Friday!  We danced, we sang our Rossmoor School Song, and showed our School Spirit as we chanted our House Cheers with pride!

We are just shy of 50% of our goal, Knights!  As of today, we have 346 memberships.  Don't forget to sign up friends & family for PTA memberships to help your child and their class win some fun prizes. Every class that reaches 25 memberships will win a popsicle party!

Our goal this year is to reach 800 memberships!

● Volunteer with the PTA!  There are some great opportunities to help and support our students this year.

LAEF Fall After-School Enrichment Classes

Sign up for our new after-school and virtual language classes at LAEF4kids.org!

Classes begin September 12th! This is an experience your children will not want to miss. There are opportunities every day of the week to get some physical activity in and to possibly try something new/exhilarating. The TK-K only classes will be 55 minute classes (Welcome to LAEF, TK-K families!) and the 1st -5th classes as well as Wednesday classes will be 1 hour and 15 minutes. The classes available at Rossmoor are Acting/Stage Performance, Breakdance 101, Broadway Bootcamp, Chess, Communication Arts and Debate, Fitness and Agility, Jiu Jitsu, Kenpo Karate, Kids Choir, LEGO Academy, LEGO Engineering, and Soccer. The class fee is $175. Strategic Kids and Chess classes have a $24 materials fee. Class fee increases after September 6th.

FREE virtual world language classes for 1st - 5th graders begin September 19th!

Multi-class discounts available – 10% off the 2nd class and 15% off any class thereafter. All registration information including class descriptions and instructor bios are presented at LAEF4kids.org/afterschool.

This week's PTA/FOR (Friends of Rossmoor) Volunteer of the Week is Janna Anderson!

Janna is a mom of four Rossmoor Knights; Micah (2nd grade), Noelle (5th grade), and former Knights, Reese & Zeke.

Janna has been involved at Rossmoor since her oldest was in TK.  She is responsible for the adorable First Day of School photos that we received of our kiddos at the beginning of the year! Janna has been our Welcome Back Photos Chair for several years now and continues to bring her creativity to the position. We are so thankful for the wonderful keepsakes so we can see how much our students grow during the school year and during their years at Rossmoor.
