Rossmoor PTA’s Ice Cream Social & Movie Knight Fun!

Thank you to our Rossmoor PTA for such a fun-filled evening on Friday to help us close out our 2^nd week of school!  Many of our families were able to show up for these events.  They enjoyed refreshing ice cream with great toppings and a fun movie in our grass.  A shout out to all our Parent Volunteers and for the staff who volunteered for this event as well!

Dismissal & Drop Off Reminders for Week 3

August 29^th – September 2^nd

Student Drop Off Times

• School Starts at 7:50am- Parents may enter their gates when they hear the bell at 7:40am.  This is when supervision starts. (Please do not enter campus sooner). 
• Breakfast- If you are having breakfast, you may enter Gate 1 at 7:30am.

Valet Drop Off Procedures

If your family is utilizing Gate 1 for Valet Drop- Off- please remember that drivers stay in car and students must exit the right side of car only.  Students should wait to exit car until the car has pulled all the forward.   Thank you for following this routine to ensure safety.

Dismissal Schedule for UTK and Kindergarten (August 29^th – September 2^nd)

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday will be regular 2:05pm Dismissal
• Modified Wednesday Dismissal at 1:05pm

We are at 589 memberships, Knights!  This is just above 70% of our goal.  Don't forget to sign up friends & family for PTA memberships to help your child and their class win some fun prizes. 

Every class that reaches 25 memberships will win a popsicle party! 

So far, nine classes have qualified!

Our goal this year is to reach 800 memberships!

● Volunteer with the PTA!  There are some great opportunities to help and support our students this year.

● Our online Spirit Wear store is now open!

New House shirts **$15** are available for PREORDER August 19 - September 2

Shirts will only be available to purchase during this pre-order period for the whole school year.  So don't miss your chance to get your house shirt and show your house pride for the 2022-2023 school year.  

Order is only considered complete once the online order form is completed, submitted AND payment has been made.

LAEF Fall After-School Enrichment Classes

Sign up for our new after-school and virtual language classes at LAEF4kids.org!

Classes begin September 12th! This is an experience your children will not want to miss. There are opportunities every day of the week to get some physical activity in and to possibly try something new/exhilarating. The TK-K only classes will be 55 minute classes (Welcome to LAEF, TK-K families!) and the 1st -5th classes as well as Wednesday classes will be 1 hour and 15 minutes. The classes available at Rossmoor are Acting/Stage Performance, Breakdance 101, Broadway Bootcamp, Chess, Communication Arts and Debate, Fitness and Agility, Jiu Jitsu, Kenpo Karate, Kids Choir, LEGO Academy, LEGO Engineering, and Soccer. The class fee is $175. Strategic Kids and Chess classes have a $24 materials fee. Class fee increases after September 6th.

FREE virtual world language classes for 1st - 5th graders begin September 19th!

Multi-class discounts available – 10% off the 2nd class and 15% off any class thereafter. All registration information including class descriptions and instructor bios are presented at LAEF4kids.org/afterschool.

This week’s PTA/FOR (Friends of Rossmoor) Volunteer of the Week is Mindee Lands!

Mindee is mom to UTK Knight, Emmersyn, and future Knight Karter. 

Mindee is our PTA Ice Cream Social and Spirit Wear Chair. Mindee hit the ground running as a new UTK parent. As Spirit Wear Chair she fulfilled all Spirit Wear orders and sold Spirit Wear at all of our back to school events. Mindee is also chair of our Ice Cream Social.

Mindee enjoys an active lifestyle and likes working out, spending time with family and friends, and is always willing to volunteer her time.

Mindee, we are so grateful to have you and your family as part of the Rossmoor community! We appreciate all that you do for our Knights. Thank you for all that you do!
