Welcome Back to School

Welcome back to school! The first day of the 2022-2023 school year is here and we are thrilled to see our Knights!   I hope this summer has been filled with relaxation and fun for you and your loved ones.  I could not be more proud to serve and support the Rossmoor community and our excellent team of educators as we launch this school year.   This will be a wonderful year of maintaining the drive for educational excellence that has been established at our incredible school.

First Week of School Drop Off and Dismissal Times

• School Starts at 7:50am- Parents may enter their gates when they hear the bell at 7:40am.  This is when supervision starts. (Please do not enter campus sooner).  

1. Gate 1 (front of school- Valet Drop off Only)

For families walking on campus or students walking to school use the following gates:

1. Gate 2- 4^th and 5^th Grades (Shakespeare Drive and Rossmoor Way)
2. Gate 3- 2^nd and 3^rd Grades (Montecito Road near Kids Korner Entrance)
3. Gate 4 – Tk, K and 1^st Grades (Montecito Road, near Roundabout by School Garden)

Dismissal Schedule for UTK and Kindergarten (August 15^th -September 2^nd)

Dismissal Schedule for 1^st-5^th Grade (Weekly Schedule)

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Fridays

2:05pm Dismissal

Modified Every Wednesday Dismissal at 1:05pm

* Thursday, August 25^th is a Minimum Day Dismissal at 12:20pm due to Back-to-School Night

• Thursday, August 25^th - Back to School Night for 1st-5th grade 
  1. 1^st- 3^rd Grade 5:30pm-6:20pm
  2. 4^th – 5^th grade 6:40-7:30pm 
• Friday, August 26^th – 5:00pm Ice Cream Social and 6:00pm Family Movie Knight!

The staff and I are excited to start a new school year and we are confident that we will have another terrific year filled with exciting learning opportunities for our KNIGHTS.  Thank you for your ongoing support and trust with your children.  I am looking forward to another year serving and supporting the Rossmoor community.

Our PTA Membership Drive is here! Sign up friends & family for PTA memberships to help your child and their class win some fun prizes. Our goal this year is to reach 800 memberships!

● Welcome back Knights!  Our PTA President's Letter kicks off our school year and shares our PTA vision and goals for the year.  

● Save the Date!  Our Ice Cream Social is on Friday, Aug. 26 at 5PM.

● Volunteer with the PTA!  There are some great opportunities to help and support our students this year.

● Our online Spirit Wear store is now open!  House spirit wear will be available starting next week.

● Have your child's name in lights! Reserve space on our marquee to celebrate your child's special occasion.

This week’s Rossmoor PTA and FOR Volunteer of the Week is Lisa Duron!

Lisa is mom to 3rd grade Knight, Kenzo, and 9th grader, Kingston.

We are so grateful to Lisa for taking the lead as our Communications Secretary this year. She oversees so many key areas in this role: managing the Monday Messages and all electronic communication for our PTA, compiling and updating our calendar of events, and she keeps track of all of our email accounts and passwords. 

Lisa, we are so thankful to have you and your family as part of the Rossmoor community!   We appreciate all you do for our Knights. We are lucky to have you on our team!
